50% of UK’s Electricity now Low carbon

Milestones

It has been a year of milestones for the shift towards greener energy:

  • 5th May 2016 –  The first time since 1881 that Britain burnt no coal to produce its electricity.
  • 3rd Quarter 2016 – More than half of the UK’s electricity was generated from low-carbon sources for the first time ever.

We are pleased to hear of such milestones and look forward to many more yet to come as we enter such an exciting time in the move towards a more sustainable energy model.
