Background

The school had their lighting upgraded as part of a maintenance roll-out. Despite being more efficient than the fittings they had before, the fittings provided poor light levels.

Coupled with rising energy bills, they began to investigate ways to save money, improve the learning environment and doing their bit for the planet.

After speaking with other schools in the area, they contacted Ineco Energy to see how we could help.

Word of mouth recommendation

Ineco Energy was recommended to Great Linford Primary School. We were able to offer a fully-funded solution to help them become a greener school with lower bills, while improving their learning environment. Understandably this appealed to the school team as they were keen to improve their environmental position too.

Our feasibility survey and energy bill analysis determined the scope of the energy-saving opportunity. As a result, we suggested that LED and solar PV panels would provide an easy first step towards achieving the school’s goals.

Site audit

A detailed site audit was undertaken to capture building dimensions and a full asset register. Subsequently, our in-house design team produced a bespoke design to provide the best value for Great Linford Primary School. Our solution provided the optimum output, using the least resource, to deliver the greatest returns.

LED and Solar PV installation

Our experienced teams installed the solution in a controlled and clean manner, working safely around the school and its pupils, as well as some asbestos-containing materials. The transformed learning environment has brighter lighting, while the solar panels create energy for education and help to defend against potential energy price hikes. Our mission to implement a solution that enabled them to become a greener school with lower bills was also accomplished, so we considered the project as much of a success as the school did.
