"The quality of lighting for the pupils has significantly improved throughout the school. Ineco’s “design for efficiency” approach reduced the actual number of light fittings by 20%, giving more financial and carbon savings.”

Angus Rose

Director, Ineco Energy

The Motivation

The school’s outdated and deteriorating lighting was negatively impacting the learning environment for both students and staff. Rising energy costs, along with expensive maintenance and repairs, placed additional strain on the school’s budget. Emerson Valley sought a solution that would enhance classroom lighting, create a more stimulating and comfortable learning environment, and reduce both energy expenses and its carbon footprint.

The Ineco Solution

Bespoke Lighting Audit and Design
Ineco Energy conducted a thorough lighting audit to assess the school’s specific needs. They then designed a tailored lighting plan for each room, ensuring compliance with relevant lighting standards and funding criteria. This bespoke approach guaranteed an optimal balance of brightness, energy efficiency, and sustainability.

Securing Funding with No Upfront Cost
Understanding the school’s budget constraints, Ineco Energy guided Emerson Valley through the funding process. They successfully secured an £8,191 non-repayable contribution from the Carbon Trust and an interest-free loan from the government-backed Salix scheme, covering the entire project cost. This meant the school had no upfront expenses.

Efficient LED Installation and Cost Savings
Ineco installed 286 high-quality, energy-efficient LED luminaires from Dextra Lighting. The new lighting system significantly improved light quality across the school while using 20% fewer fittings. This resulted in immediate reductions in energy consumption, costs, and carbon emissions, providing long-term financial and environmental benefits.

The Benefits

Ineco Energy’s solution delivered instant cost savings, with no initial expenditure for the school. The new lighting system not only improved the learning environment but also reduced energy bills and maintenance costs. Additionally, the school benefits from a 5-year full warranty, ensuring ongoing peace of mind and zero maintenance costs for years to come.
