“The financial benefits over the last 11 years have been clear. We underestimated how important solar would become, especially with today’s energy prices. Ineco’s knowledge, transparency, and project management were excellent. The installation was smooth, with minimal disruption, and their ability to offer solutions tailored to our needs has been invaluable. In hindsight, choosing a qualified partner from the start and maintaining the system properly would have saved us time and money—but we’re in a great position now and would absolutely recommend Ineco.”

The Motivation

In 2013, Bartlett Business Park installed what was then the largest privately-owned solar PV system in the UK. For over a decade, it delivered significant savings. However, the collapse of the original installer and a lack of structured maintenance led to system deterioration and underperformance. Despite sporadic repairs, it became clear that a trusted, long-term partner was needed to repower the system and restore its potential.

The Ineco Solution

Ineco Energy was chosen for our technical expertise, proven track record with large-scale systems, and commitment to delivering reliable, future-proof solutions. We carried out a full design-and-build service under tight timelines.

The new solar system, though smaller in footprint, delivers greater output thanks to high-efficiency modules. SolarEdge technology with module-level optimisation was installed to improve fault detection and performance monitoring. Roof remedial works were completed to safeguard the integrity of the roof structure, while permanent line access and skylight protection were introduced to ensure safe, ongoing maintenance.

In line with Bartlett’s sustainability values, all viable panels from the original system were repurposed for use in other projects, ensuring minimal waste. This upgrade has not only improved energy output but also reinforced Bartlett’s long-term environmental commitment.

The Benefits

The repowered solar PV system at Bartlett Business Park is now fully operational, delivering significantly improved performance, reliability, and long-term financial returns, projected to generate double-digit yields for decades to come.

Equipped
with modern, high-efficiency modules and SolarEdge optimisation, the system produces more energy from a smaller footprint, reducing grid reliance and protecting against future electricity price volatility.

The
installation will generate hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of clean, low-cost electricity each year, driving substantial operational savings. Bartlett Business Park also leveraged HMRC’s Annual Investment Allowance (AIA), reducing the capital cost by 25%.

Permanent
access lines and skylight protection have been added to ensure safe, ongoing maintenance, safeguarding both system performance and investment value.

With
energy prices remaining unpredictable, the upgraded solar PV system has become a cornerstone of Bartlett’s energy strategy, delivering financial resilience while supporting tenants with a cleaner, more affordable power source.
